The base game is enjoyable and has potential, but it suffers from modern monetisation. The ads are annoying, and the progression is slowed to make you pay. I tested the VIP experience, which made the game feel like an acceptable BASE VERSION (even that had ads). I would recommend and love to play a one-time purchase version of this without the ads and slowed progression. No way I'm paying monthly to play a phone game! I can't reccomend as it is now. Will probably uninstall it.

I love this game. Not much more to be said than that. It's wonderful at passing the time, I've been going through a lot in my life lately and this game has been keeping me company. I've also been making spreadsheets tracking my progress and that's been lots of fun. I've been playing on and off for years (my original 5 star review is from 2017!!! Pre COVID!) and it's always just been so fun to pick back up and play even after a hiatus. Much love.

it's mainly ads with some pretty 8 bit graphics in-between. the main annoying thing are the ads served by applovin that tend to be sketchy (promoting get rich quick or weird ads for adults) and intrusive (sometimes interfere with the game making you miss out on rewards). VIP seems to make the experience more bearable. But keep in mind that either way this rail "tycoon" game mainly consists of waiting for your train to reach the next station and only then finding out what goods are worth there.
