I love this game and I play it constantly, just as I have for the last two years. It's a ton of fun, but I had to change my review. Since they added the Private Quarters game mode, the game has lost a lot of it's core stability, immediately working more poorly than before the feature. It freezes frequently, it gets stuck on loading all the time, and even with a good connection, the UI is frequently unresponsive. Really disappointed with the game's functionality over the last couple months.

I only got into this game because of all the R18 art of Atago, and I've fallen in love with it. While some of the super rare ships require days of grinding, the game will provide you with enough resources to allow for several gacha pulls per day. If all you want is to play the game and collect all the ships, there is absolutely no need to pay a single cent. But you will. Because your girls will grow on you, to the point where you want to buy them nice skins and more slots. They're hideously expensive, but that's f2p for you. Still better than 99% of what's out there.

Azur Lane does literally everything right. The bullet hell like combat system is far more interesting than the normal turne based combat of all the other gacha games. The art, voice acting and character designs are outstanding. Gacha currency isn't hard to get without spending money unlike in other gachas where you can only really get it from logging in or buying it. I've been playing for a year now and Azur Lane has never been boring and I don't think it ever will be. Its perfect.
